mouse birds!

Some birds hop around and act a little like mice. Papa Mouse always calls them mice birds. I found this image while surfing flickr.

 

Popsicles!

My midwifes want me getting more fat in my diet and have suggested I eat more coconut and avocado. Pregnancy has created a lot of food aversions; especially with cooked foods. I have come up with a solution. Coconut smoothies and Popsicles. The following recipe can be frozen as Popsicles or be an extremely rich smoothie.

makes 8 Popsicles or 2 very rich and filling smoothies

ingredients

• 1 14 fl. oz. can coconut milk
• 1 handful blueberries (i used fresh frozen would work if they are not in season)
• 1 handful strawberries (i used frozen)
• 2 heaping tbs orange juice concentrate more or less to taste
• 1 tbs agave nectar
• 2 tbs protein powder (can be left out if you don’t need extra protein)

dump everything into a blender and puree until very smooth (or make it chunky if you prefer)

for Popsicles poor into your Popsicle freezing container and freeze or pour into glasses and drink. my Popsicle mold only makes 4 and that took about half my smoothie so i poured the other half into a glass to drink but it is to rich for me and i will probably try freezing it in another container.

While it might not seem mouse related. Pigeons are often thought of as rats with wings and rats are kind of like large mice. This also related to little mouse in that someday I may be able to do the pigeon with little mouse

Awoken by a bean

I have not yet mentioned that Papa Mouse and I share our home with two pet beans. There is the Black Bean and the Cow Bean. this morning the Cow Bean lay beside me purring loudly as a gentle way of reminding me that she desired food. I woke up slowly and as I did little mouse began kicking me with all the mousiness it could muster. I got up and Papa Mouse fed the beans and I came to the office to customize my blog. Do you like it? I am trying to make it feel original but it is hard as there are not enough options to customize it to make it exactly how I want. I have found some nice mousy images though.

Little Mouse

Little Mouse is currently living within my womb. Papa Mouse and I are a bit nervous about becoming parents. I suppose that is pretty normal. We are also pretty excited which is also normal. We are planning a home waterbirth. Our
Little Mouse is due to arrive sometime in October. I’m an artist/researcher and Papa Mouse is musician/computer geek. Little Mouse is a good kicker are i suspect has a good sense of humor but thats about all we know about little mouse.

An Introduction

I have recently realized that I would like a place to blog that’s a bit more anonymous than my normal blogging site. I followed the mice and the led me here.

I plan to post about lactivism, attachment parenting, being barefoot, elimination communication, pregnancy, natural family living, home birth, family life and various other things.
